Class Info

🐨 Toddler Tots (Ages 2–3) – Parent Participation

Our youngest Rugby Roos enjoy fun, play-based activities that develop their first motor skills — running, jumping, catching, and balancing — all with a rugby twist. Parents join in every session, making it a shared experience that strengthens confidence and builds trust. Together, you and your little Roo will explore games that encourage coordination, social interaction, and a love of movement.

This age group requires parent participation!

🦘 Mini Movers (Ages 4–5) – Parent Play Encouraged

Mini Movers are ready to take their first steps into structured sport! In these sessions, children learn the basics of passing, catching, evasion, and teamwork through exciting, non-contact rugby-inspired games. Classes focus on growing independence, improving balance and coordination, and developing the confidence to play with friends — all while keeping the fun front and centre.

Parent Participation is really encouraged in this age group as it is a great way to bond with your child and help the session run well!

🏉 Junior Ruggers (Ages 6–7) – Team Skills & Confidence

Junior Ruggers are introduced to more advanced movement skills and team-based play. These sessions focus on refining coordination, agility, and ball handling, while also teaching teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. Through small-sided games and fun challenges, kids build the confidence to step into future sports and feel like part of their very first rugby team.

What to Bring to Rugby Roos

To make sure your child has the best experience at Rugby Roos, please bring:

  • Comfortable sports clothing – something they can run, jump and play in.

  • Closed-in shoes or runners – no thongs or sandals for safety.

  • A water bottle – staying hydrated is important, especially in the Townsville heat.

  • A hat and sunscreen – all sessions are outdoors, so sun protection is a must.

  • A small towel – handy for wiping hands or faces after play.

  • A big smile and positive energy!

Optional:

  • Rugby Roos shirt or uniform (if purchased) – once available.

  • Spare clothes – for younger kids, just in case.
